Academic Calendar:

1. Academic year shall be divided in two semester each consisting of six months (24 weeks). It will be termed as SPRING and FALL respectively.
2. For ON CAMPUS there shall be Class Test, Mid Term Exam and Final Exam. and For ON LINE there shall be an Assignment and Final Exam.
3. A course plan for each course by the course teacher will be given at the beginning of the course.
4. Academic schedule may be broken down to the following for each semester.

ON CAMPUS:

Classes——————————————-     18 weeks

Final Exam————————————–      2 weeks

Publishing of Results————————–      2 weeks

Project Presentation & Exam.  —————    1 week

Duration and Credit of Courses:

1. The Duration of each class will be 60 minutes

Registration Procedure:

Students must register for the whole program. The registration process must be completed with the registrar office WCIMT, BD and later be finally registered with WCU-Panama. Each department will recognize studentship according to that instruction. All copies of previous credentials must be submitted here in WCIMT and should be filed. The date, time and venue of registration will be announced in advance by the registrar office.

Penalty for Late Registration:

Students who will fail to register within specified dates for registration will be charged a late registration fee as decided by WCU-Panama.

Grading System and Calculation of GPA:

The grading system will be followed as given below:

Grade Point Average (GPA) will be calculated using following formula at the end of 4 years program. Yearly or semester wise GPA will not be calculated. Following equation will be used to calculate GPA.

Where an is the total number of courses passed by the student, Ci is the number of credits allotted to a number particular course i and Gi is the grade point corresponding to the grade awarded for the course.GPA will be rounded off to the second place of decimal.

Distribution of Marks:

• Theory Courses (On-Campus)

• Theory Courses (On-Line)

• Sessional/Lab (On-Campus / On-Line)

• Project/Thesis (On-Campus / On-Line)

Earned Credits, Backlog and GPA Improvement:

• The courses in which a student has obtained ‘D’ or a higher grade will be counted as credits earned by him/her.
• For an ‘F’ grade, the course must be repeated within the next three consecutive semesters, but pre-requisite course (if any) should be repeated on priority basis.
• As for the improvement of any grade (up to ‘B’ grade), the incumbent student may be allowed to repeat only one time for a particular course, which should be repeated within next three consecutive semesters.
• However, if any student wishes to take this privilege, s/he has to take written permission from the Head of the department and a copy of permission must be sent to the office of the Controller of Examinations within three days from the date of publication of results.
• Better grade will be accepted against that particular course for improvement in question, and the previous grade will be marked as ‘R’ (repeated), and excluded from GPA computation.
• For repeat/improvement of a course, a student has to register the course as usually by paying the normal tuition fees (i.e. credit hour basis).

Probation and Suspension:

Students with a GPA of less than 2.00 are placed on probation. Students on probation are allowed a maximum of three semesters to raise their GPA to 2.00. Students who fail to achieve a GPA of 2.00 within three semesters are dismissed from the University.
